    Process

 

LR Brand has an established development process to meet the unique needs of web development. While it may be tempting to just dive in and develop a website with the latest and greatest technology, typically organizations benefit more if they first concentrate on adopting a best practice approach and proven process.

We are aware of some of the many development processes. New ideas are coming out on a regular basis. There are many processes to choose from: RUP, Agile RUP Waterfall, XP or Extreme Programming, Iterative, lite XP and any number of combinations.

 

We believe it is more valuable to move toward a development process that helps our clients achieve their business objectives. This may involve prioritizing features with the a budget in mind. In either case, we are flexible yet process-centric, willing to adapt our process to serve our customers.

    Define

 

The objective of the Define phase is to understand the concerns and business imperitives for your project. When doing business on the Internet, we realize the importance of being clearly understood, and clearly setting expectations.

Typically, the deliverables for the Define phase will be:

        • Requirements Document
        • Level 1 Work Breakdown Structure and Project Schedule
        • Payment schedule
        • Draft of the contract of agreement

After everyone is comfortable with the preliminary design further work may commence.

 

The final stage in the process is Deployment of your website or web application. During this stage, performance of the site is monitored for a period of one month if there is no site maintenance agreement. You can feel very confident that your investment is well on it's way repaying dividends in the form of increased visibility and marketing opportunities.

 
 
 
Design and Development    

Working from the requirements established during the design phase we typically use an evolving iterative approach to web development. In this methodology, once the preliminary requirements are clarified, the next step is to quickly build a prototype of the website or web application. Moving forward we will continue to evolve this prototype until it becomes the final product, exact to specifications.

During the development, your website/web application evolves before your eyes. Based on the complexity of your project we may decide to move through each one of these stages:

1. Prototype: The first and crucial phase. The prototype shows you the shape of things to come. This is much more than just a visual representation. It represents all the screen elements in the final solution. Your feedback is taken and required modifications are incorporated.

 

2. Functional Specifications Document: Before starting to actually develop the functionalities, we document all the functional specifications. You review this document and provide feedback.

3. The Proof of concept: The prototype evolves into a more complex end state. Many parts of the prototype spring to life. You can now almost feel the solution that you have entrusted us to develop. What remains now is just delivery.

4. Final Delivery: The final product is delivered after testing. There are no surprises, and no tense expectations on the date of delivery, you have watched it evolve to it's final state!
